Introducing the SD Regional Center

The San Diego Regional Center's mission is "to serve and empower persons with developmental disabilities and their families to achieve their goals with community partners. It provides a variety of services to persons with developmental disabilities and their families. Services are based on the client's individual needs and intended to maximize their independence and full potential. www.sdrc.org 

We will hear the story about SDRC from Gabby and Suzy; we're in discussions about if/how we might partner with them for a Surf Day.

Gabby Ohmstede has worked for the San Diego Regional Center for 15 years in various roles. She has a Masters in Social Work and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Gabby is currently the Project Manager for the Self Determination Program and is tasked with rolling out a new state-wide program in San Diego and Imperial Counties that will create the opportunity for individuals with developmental disabilities to live more inclusive lives in their communities.

Suzy Requarth has worked for the San Diego Regional Center for almost 4 years and, prior to that, worked in a variety of jobs supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in Illinois and Pennsylvania. Currently, Suzy is the Regional Manager of the SDRC North County office. She has a Masters in Counselor Education from Pennsylvania State University.
