“I AM LUBO" is an inspirational story narrated through the eyes of a young boy. “LUBO" means love in Serbo-Croatian.  Lou Pechi, born in Zagreb, Yugoslavia, shares the story of his life's remarkable journey through three continents, four countries and seven cities, to find a happy ending in San Diego.

 

His memoir, begins with his carefree childhood in Zagreb which ended abruptly in 1941 with the German invasion of Yugoslavia.  In order to survive, he had to change his name, religion and identity, and it took many years to recover them. In his journey he encountered the best and worst of humanity, finally coming to the realization that we are all connected.  

 

Lou Pechi, born in Zagreb, Croatia came to San Diego in 1955, where he enjoyed a successful career in engineering and sales marketing. A published columnist and writer of numerous articles, he is the author of three books. His memoir, I AM LUBO, the dramatic story his survival during WWII, was featured at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC.
